About · micgtech
Hi, I'm CarMichael.
Graphic designer & web developer
I design brand and campaign work, then build the sites it runs on. Six years across retail, hospitality, fitness, and IT services — logos, promotional artwork, and social campaigns on one side; Shopify stores, WordPress sites, and custom builds on the other. When a project needs more than a template, I work in React, Laravel, and PHP.
01 — Background
Two disciplines, one person
I started building WordPress sites for clients in 2016. The design work came because small businesses rarely have a designer on hand — someone had to make the banner, the product image, the campaign graphic, and it was usually me.
Six years later that's the job. Two years in-house producing logos, display banners, product imagery, and social campaigns across Instagram, WhatsApp, email, and paid ads, while keeping one brand consistent everywhere it appeared. Alongside it, the storefronts and company sites those campaigns ran on.
The two feed each other. Designing a page differently when you know how it gets built, and building it better when you designed it — that's the whole argument for having both in one person.
02 — How I work
Clear scope, shippable builds
Design and development from the same person: brand and campaign assets, site design, then the build — Shopify themes, WordPress company sites, rebuilds, and the ongoing fixes that keep things usable. Clear scope, shippable milestones, and code that can be handed off.
Measured by whether the site loads, converts, and stays editable by the people who own it.
03 — Approach
What I prefer on every project
Every project starts with what you need to sell, operate, or communicate — then the design and the stack that fit.
- Design that carries the brand — assets that hold consistent across web, social, and print, not one-off graphics
- Clear scope — written deliverables so you know what ships and when
- Platform-first — Shopify, WordPress, or Odoo when they fit; custom only when they don't
- Performance — image weight, caching, and Lighthouse as a baseline, not an afterthought
- Handoff-ready — documentation and structure so you aren't locked into mystery code

Platform judgment
I'll tell you when Shopify or WordPress is enough, and when a custom build is worth it.
